When is it a good time to quit?

There’s a common sentiment that you should always tough things out and that it’s weak to quit. When is this not true? How do you know you should quit something?

Quit while yer ahead! That’s what I say, but I am kind of a quitter…

I have left a variety of situations, and given up on some projects, but not as many as I have seen through to the end. Sometimes, a project gets tough, and you don’t want to go on. That’s when I’ll kick it into low gear and try to power through, but if you still can’t make a dent, even in attack mode, then it’s probably time to find a new angle, or a whole new gig.

Or, if you realize that what you are working on is no longer making you happy, then it is usually a good time to re-vamp as well.
