The Axe

Have you ever had to fire someone? Was it easier or harder than you expected? If you never have, how do you think you’d handle it?

I never have had to fire anyone. The only time I’ve ever really had that power was at the Diner, and it was the traditional policy there, not to fire anyone. If an employee needed to go, then we all simply made their life miserable till they finally just quit.

This may not have been the moral high-ground. But it was easier, as passive-aggressive behavior tends to be…and it does cut back on unemployment claims. You can also just cut their hours until they take the hint. Again, this might be kind of a shifty way to handle things, but I guess, that’s just how I roll.
