Dr. Jiggybones

Write a short story that ends with the following sentence:

Having learned his lesson, it was the last time Dr. Jiggybones would let the crossbeams get out of skew on the treadle.

It can be a short story of just a paragraph or two.

The good doctor Jiggybones had been spinning his own wool for several decades, so you think he would have known better by now…

His trusty spinning wheel had never given him any trouble before this day, and of course it all had to go awry whilst he was working with some of the finest silver-toned angora he had even encountered.

Unfortunately, the house cat and the dog had gotten into a tiff over a fish head discarded from the table, and in trying to catch the cat & the tasty morsel, the clumsy old dog had pounced on the treadle of the the spinning wheel, knocking it out of position.

So when the doctor had finished carding the long, soft rabbit wool, and tried to start feeding it onto the wheel, the whole operation jammed up, and the angora had to be cut free of the mess, ruining it entirely.

Having learned his lesson, it was the last time Dr. Jiggybones would let the crossbeams get out of skew on the treadle.
