Is all fair in love and war?
This is one of those sayings people say when things go wrong, but has never made any sense to me. Does it make sense to you? Why or why not?
P.S. Sorry for missing a post yesterday. My team and I are visiting in Lisbon, Portugal, to participate in the first ever Lisbon Wordcamp.
I think that that saying is more of a historical sentiment. Yes, in the past there have been many atrocities done on the battlefield, and in the bedrooms of this planet’s ongoing saga of humanity. (Insert dramatic riff of soap opera music)
However, I think we are improving. Certain things such as the Geneva Convention and Marriage Counseling, are evidence of our will to do better, as a species, which I really appreciate. When the world can rest assured that there will be no more Holocausts, or tragic ends to the likes of Lady Di, we will all breathe a bit easier, which is a fundamental component to personal inner peace, if I might add (breathe…).
